The fun element in one’s life is the main ingredient to survive – a sine qua non !!
As time goes by and responsibilities increase, or life shows its other side, ‘to give it a laugh’ becomes more difficult. We strive in daily life and forget about many ‘essential’ things that are good for us..We get carried away with frivolous things so that we cannot enjoy those ‘little moments’ any more…Once realised, it is best to stop it. We can. Changing the course and adding value to our days, hours, moments is the way out…
I sound like a life coach or guru, don’t I ? 😛 You must have come across similar advices at some point in your life. Well then, keep this at hand, if possible in your RAM part of the brain – you will need it frequently throughout your life!
When I was in secondary school, I remember that everything was fun! Of course, I had problems like anyone else, but coping with those was easy peasy…Friends, games, fun and laughter could re-charge me and I was ready for another challenge..Towards my University period I even felt like a dragon – ready to fight with anything & anyone. I loved problems, I loved problematic people. For me they were like a test, like a level to pass. And then I loved to see the outcome!
Now, I can’t say the same things…Is it whether I am tired or whether the problems have accumulated, or my age or my mental stage – it is difficult to say. But mostly it is a mixture of all. You still try to look it from your rose-coloured spectacles – but nothing is ‘pink’ anymore. Oh, no. You can actually see through!! They show you the plain truth! 😛
Because you mature a bit (some do a lot!) you see things differently. Much simpler. And you WANT to make things simpler and easier…You do not want to make it more complicated – there are so many things already to take away you energy – why making life more difficult than it is?? When I was much younger I loved poems a lot, for instance, or elaborated descriptions. Now I am just the opposite; I would like to have it short and painless
You start to live life accordingly. But remember – you still need to be that dragon with the fun element in life! There are so many ‘outside factors’; many distractions, so many hungry wolves out there wanting to tear you into pieces, let’s say. But you keep going. Never changing your stance.
It is not easy…but do not lose it. If you do not have it, aim for it. But then firmly cling to it. Never let it go.
Do I think it is easy? Absolutely not! In such a state of mind when you hit rock bottom and no longer can see the big picture, or anything around you sucks, how can you be ‘happy’? How can you have ‘fun’ ?? And if you attempt to tell someone, or me that the world is beautiful and ‘we should think positive’ it is nothing else than mocking around. It is even being irrespective. How ridiculous! So shut up! How naïve can you be? Wake up, this is not your Pollyanna world, this is reality!!!
Honestly, I feel exactly like this! This person above can be me. But if I want to survive or make the most of my life, then, when I am NOT in that state of mind, exactly then I need to switch mood and remind me of that precious element in life. That will keep me on track. That is the potion. For me and for you. For us all!
Do you think I am a master? Do you think for me it is a piece of cake? Lately, no. And literally speaking, I do not think things will become easier in this world we are living in… I need to be ready for anything…Like we all do..
If I want to have a never ending laughter or fun, I should change planet! 😛 But at least I know the value of it and never want to lose it. I appreciate the ‘fun element’ and try not to take things too serious…Believe me every single day I am reminded, some way or the other; challenges in our families, circle of friends, surroundings, work, cities, countries, world – in the micro-cosmos, macro-cosmos – you name it!
BUT:
There is a Turkish saying that goes:
Never kill the child in you
And THAT IS TRUE !
