Parkas

I really like military clothes as mentioned before…Parkas, boots, cargo pants, and rebellious styles in general… I think masculine things suit women a lot…Perfect examples of masculine characters/figures I like a lot are: Anne Parillaud in Nikita, Milla Jovovich in the Fifth Element, Natalie Portman in Leon and Rooney Mara in The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo. I find there is much more characteristics and style in these…(I will come back to these figures in the near future 😉 )

I myself started wearing boy boots when I was in secondary school, then finally got my first Dr Martens! *.. I absolutely adored them. During that time, I was listening to Punk music; this sub-culture fitted well into this period of mine! 😉

I was in Turkey but still I could get what I wanted (boots, clothes & dyes) because I had one foot in Germany as remaining bits of my family (brothers and dad) were there. That might be considered a luxury but what can I do? 😛

I started dying my hair in funky colours – which was incongruous at the time. I loved it even more! (The dye was obtained from Germany, just now available here- after 20 years!!)..Now, it is fashion and people walk around with neon-coloured streaks…

Anyway, military clothes have become androgen fashion for a very long time. It hit the stage with the reflection of variety of combinations and styles…For instance, cargo pants with high heel shoes (never would have worn like that but still do think that it can look chic) …

One unique piece of this style is the Parka of course! :) It has reached the market in various styles; more casual, more chic, slim, oversized…

I was wearing my favourite one during my University times. I had my real military boots, my parka (apart from my bluish-grey and khaki military jacket) and my military bag (the parka was oversized and I loved it!) You could take out the lining of the parka and fur covered hood, so it was multi-functional. In time, it was worn out and I had none :(

It took me a very long time to find a parka of my liking again!

Actually, it takes such a long time to find any clothes of my liking. Isn’t it odd in an oversaturated market ??? Usually,
there is only the ‘in’ or ‘mainstream’ out there and nothing I am looking for! Just like this slim-fit-mania! NO – I do not want slim fit jeans, I want low raise casual jeans- boyish style. I’ll end up getting one from men’s this year, I guess…(I really should start making my own clothes! – I will, soon! :P)

Anyway, I finally got my parka and I am soooo thrilled! This is exactly my style and I love it!!

Check out for yours, I hope you can find it 😉
