The eyes are the window of the soul…
Eyes can say more than words..
SO many things can be said about ‘eyes‘. But rather than saying, please look. Have a look at the pictures here…Does it make you feel something? Are you touched? Do you find them appealing? (If you do not feel anything; either you cannot see properly or you are not that sensitive :P)
I feel that Keane is one of the best artists/painters reflecting ‘eyes’ in such a successful way that you cannot escape it. Have you watched her biography, the Big Eyes? If not, please do sometime! (If you are interested of course)https://www.flixster.com/movie/big-eyes/
Eyes have a very significant meaning in my life…Not because my eyes are big and I have once even be called ‘donkey eyed’ :)) but because I have always felt they are full of meaning. I feel I can read through looking into eyes…I love eyes and big ones, too!
Aren’t cartoon characters with big eyes cute, too? Actually, one view is that the Japanese drew those big eyes because theirs were small & slanting…Leaving this aside, big eyes can look ‘baby-like’ and ‘innocent’ and ‘cute’..
Eyes that I find very meaningful are embedded ones, as if in the background compared to the ones on the foreground. For instance, Juliette Binoche’s, Rooney Mara’s eyes. http://en.mediamass.net/people/juliette-binoche & http://rooney-m.com/. On the plus side, they are smoky, too – reflecting depth and making them more attractive. So, those looks can really kill you softly Some sort of sophistication it reflects. Julia Roberts’ eyes are of same category but bright, sparkling – carefree.
Eyes that I find very attractive are big ones, a bit wider to each other and having circles under them. Honestly, I am very much attracted to it! (How contradictory- I don’t like my dark circles but if someone else has them, I love it!) (But the eyes should have all 3: be big, wide & circled) Is it because we like things that are familiar to us?? Anyway, I must exemplify this as liking this is not a very common/usual aesthetic sense for sure! But it is for me!
Judy Greer for instance. Doesn’t ring a bell? The assistant in the background in What Women Want which stars Mel Gibson. Oh yes, that film. Think a bit more, may be vaguely you have a picture in mind about who that girl was…https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judy_Greer / http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0207201/.You may even have paid attention to her, BUT I DID!
I have only talked about women so far but wait! Here comes my final example: Vincent Cassel. Exactly the eyes I am talking about. If you haven’t checked the previous links, you must click this one!http://alchetron.com/Vincent-Cassel-448211-W and http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001993/
You might know him as Monica Belluci’s husband. She must have seen in him what I have seen ! 😛 😉 Wide, big eyes with circles! Attractive, masculine, handsome and mature. Shows a lot, says a lot…
So many things to talk about…and this has been a window to the eyes of my liking…
Let me finish with the British metaphysical poet, John Donne’s quote:
“My face in thine eye, thine in mine appears”…
